We’re excited to annouce that IdeaSwarm is growing in size by 1. We’re bringing on a new developer and partner to work on AppViz features and new product development. We’ve got some great things coming.

New developers require care and feeding.  To that end, we’re having a promotion. AppViz will be 33% off starting now and running until August 3rd. That puts the price at $19.95.

If you’re on the fence, or have friends or co-workers who still need licenses, now is a great time to buy. If you’re already an AppViz customer, thanks for your support. Customers like you allow us to keep working on products we love.

Apple changed a few columns and added some summary rows to the monthly financial report. 1.7.8 fixes the report parsing in AppViz to take these changes into account.

You can get the upgrade using the AppViz -> Check for Updates menu item or the download link on the side of this page.

Let us know at support@ideaswarm.com if you have feature requests, bug reports, or general feedback.

The release of the iPad is imminent and I’m pretty excited. I haven’t been doing a lot of sleeping, so I decided to use my new free time working on adding iPad support. Sleep is inefficient anyway.

1.7.6 is the result; it contains support for iPad and Universal sales and upgrades as well as ranking support for the new iPad top 100 lists (sales, free, top grossing, and per category).

This is a free upgrade. You can download it using the AppViz -> Check for Updates menu item.

Let me know at support@ideaswarm.com if I missed anything. Otherwise, best of luck to everyone with an app in the store! I’m looking forward to using your stuff come tomorrow.

AppViz 1.7.3 adds support for the 13 new AppStore countries that were added to iTunes recently. It also fixes a download bug that was introduced by changes to iTunes Connect on February 25, 2010.

You can get it from the AppViz -> Check for Updates menu item.

Another day, another new agreement on iTunes Connect. In addition, there were some structural changes to the home page that were causing download problems; 1.7.2 fixes these issues. You can get it from the AppViz -> Check for Updates menu item.

AppViz 1.7.1.9 restores report downloading, handling the new license agreement from Apple. It also fixes a few other bugs. Details are available in the release notes.

You can get the upgrade through the link on the right or through the AppViz -> Check for Updates menu item.

iTunes Connect has gone down for the holidays, temporarily blocking AppViz from downloading reports… or so it seemed. It turns out that only the main site is down and the sales/trend report site is still available at itts.apple.com.

This version of AppViz checks for this and will download the daily and weekly reports if the sales/trend report site is up. That means that you should be able to get your reports uninterrupted over the holidays.

Happy holidays!

iTunes Connect Downtime

{ December 19th, 2009 }

The holidays are upon us and Apple is doing their holiday shutdown of iTunes Connect. The black out period is scheduled for Wednesday, December 23 through the morning of Monday, December 28th. During that period the iTunes Connect site will be down, so AppViz will not be able to retrieve reports. Once service is restored on Monday AppViz will once again be able to fetch your reports, including reports for the period where Connect was down.

Happy holidays from IdeaSwarm!

Whew, what a week. Apple released a great new version of iTunes the day after we released AppViz 1.7, causing some waves in the community. Hopefully the changes help more developers out there get the recognition that they deserve.

The Top 200 and Top Grossing listings will help. We’ve added support for these in this release. The iTunes store shows Top Grossing overall, but this is actually a new ranking type like paid and free and can be retrieved per category in AppViz. If you want to see how your revenue tracks against your competitors in your category, AppViz now lets you do that.

In addition, AppViz now fetches all reviews, including historical reviews, even if that means thousands of pages. It only fetches what it needs to on each download, so this should still be fast after the first grab.

We’ve added a few other minor features and a bunch of bug fixes, including the reviews from the future bug. Check out the release notes for the details.

As always, we’re listening at support@ideaswarm.com and @AppViz on Twitter if you want to say hi, report a bug, comment on a feature, or point out this cool new app that you just pushed through the app review gauntlet.
